Causes:
Pressure by swelling of the synovium (the tissues surrounding the tendons in the wrist) or anything that causes the carpal tunnel to become narrower, including: Wrist injuries or breaks, bone spurs, medical conditions such as diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis and thyroid hormone imbalance; smoking which can reduce blood flow to nerves, obesity, pregnancy, hormone alterations, such those experienced during menopause, and prolonged work on a computer with poor hand and wrist placement on the keyboard and mouse.
